This is a clay project. My students need air dry clay to get experience with working with clay. Working with clay will make a difference in their learning of visual arts and sculpture. Working with clay helps develop coordination and motor skills, build imagination and boost self-esteem. I will need a wire to cut the large chunk of clay into small pieces. The other materials they will need include air dry clay, paint, containers for water and toothpicks. This project aligns with the Utah visual arts core curriculum and the district visual arts curriculum as well.
