My students on the Autism Spectrum, have a difficult time self- regulating and will need the time and supplies to do this upon returning to the school building after remote learning. They require multiple opportunities to practice a skill before they retain and master a skill. By having the find and feel sensory tubs complete set and kinetic sand, they will be able to succeed with the transition. The hands on activities will help bring our curriculum topics to life for them to use real objects not just pictures while learning. The laminator, laminating sheets and velcro tabs will allow me to create individualized work for the students to use multiple times and save to reduce the amount of paper and ink being used as we know getting supplies after COVID-19 may be a challenge. My class also requires picture symbols to be used during the day to remind them to stay on task and help with their communication with symbols. These supplies will continue to also reinforce their learning by using the supplies in a tactile way and for communicating their needs and wants. The other supplies will be used to keep the materials organized and help them engage with the white board by writing and practicing their skills.
