The Granby High School student population is of 1820 students, out of which an average of 115 students participate in the engineering classes offered. During the 2012-2013 school year the average female enrollment per class was of 3% and this is the main reason the program was initiated. Once the program was initiated for the 2013-2014 school year and a 1st level all female engineering class was offered the female student enrollment increased to 12%. This effort has resulted in 4 female form the program graduate and enrolling into engineering college programs. Girls In Engineering: after school program is dedicated to promoting young women to enter the engineering fields and inspiring high school girls to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering. The program will allow the girls to: -Develop their self-confidence in engineering -Demonstrate creativity and innovational abilities. -Think critically, solve problems and make decisions of real world problems.
