Students will be able to have fun while learning geometry using the mathematical manipulatives I have chosen for my first graders to use. It has been researched that math manipulatives build students' confidence by giving them a way to test and confirm their reasoning and manipulatives are useful tools for solving problems. If my project gets funded you are giving the opportunity to each of my first grade English Learner students to have fun while doing geometry and learn through math manipulatives which will help them make abstract ideas concrete. I have also asked for birthday crowns because students in first grade love to be recognize when it's their birthday and the birthday crowns make them feel very special on their special day.
