My students live in a predominately low income, underprivileged community. Despite their circumstances, they come to school daily seeking opportunities to learn and grow. Other than my classroom library and our campus library many of my students wouldn't have any access to quality books. Many students aren't able to go to the community library and if they do, children's books are scarce. I have a high population of 5th graders who are excited about reading, and as their teacher I want to continue and add on to that excitement.
