Children become readers with books in their hands and reading with their families, friends and teachers. In first grade, students move from reading repetitive text to chapter books. It is a fundamental year in reading skill development and a year of rapid growth. My students love books that are interesting to them and just the right fit for their individual reading level. Having taught for 23 years, my books are tired, worn and in need of updating for my little ones. I want my students to have many book choices and at just right levels to share with a classmate, me or family. Confidence, skill and a love of reading are fostered from being surrounded by great books. I sincerely thank you for helping to foster the next generation of readers.
