MUDWATT: GROW A LIVING FUEL CELL. “For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.” Aristotle Kids experiment with different types of soil (and food from the fridge) to maximize power output in their fuel cell. The MudWatt Explorer App, helps students to track the bacteria's growth ,and use that data for quantitative evidence. As students experiment with the Mudwatts, they become experts on their soil sample and gain the self confidence to move on to more challenging projects! Help me engage my students in the interdisciplinary stem activity of growing their own fuel cell. Microbiology, chemistry, physics, engineering and sustainability are all part of this experience. The Mudwatts are reusable and can last for years.
