The students that these books are being requested for are from 4th grade at Riverview Elementary School. RVS is a Title I high poverty school, with students who struggle in academics. Many students come from homes that are either bi-lingual or non-English speaking, and as a result they struggle with everyday oral communication. All student in the 4th grade show exemplary character and strive to help one another to overcome obstacles that hinder social and academic growth, however without basic supplies these obstacles and hurdles are harder to overcome.
