Eighth graders at a charter school in the suburbs of Chicago are learning even more in their second year at a school that offers an education with a track to college. Skills are developed and students are exposed to a variety of experiences that encourage exploration. As college-bound "scholars," these students need access to technology on a daily basis. For most students, the only time they have computer or Internet access is at school. We would eventually like to have an entire class set of computers that can be incorporated into each lesson and project. Scholars are continually developing new skills and become more engaged with each project they can complete using technology. With computers in the classroom, these opportunities could multiply, and students would be much more prepared for high school and college. Help us launch this exciting endeavor!

About my class
