My students are reluctant readers that require a great deal of external motivation. However, they have all previously read Serafina and the Black Cloak and are eager to discover what she does next. My students are learning that often times they can count on an author to captivate his readers. Studies show that when students read more, they become better writers. Providing my students with these books will help them to choose titles in the future and become self-directed readers. It is my goal that every child enjoys reading and to feel successful while reading books daily in our classroom.

About my class
