In the Mississippi Delta, there is a rich musical tradition, where the roots of blues, rock 'n' roll, and other genres are found. Its music not only tells the stories of the region, but has forever transformed musical expression worldwide. I have discovered that, while this musical creativity lives on in my students, they lack access to instruments and opportunities to explore their musical talents. Each one of my students has a story to share with the world. With access to musical instruments, these stories can be told.

About my class
