My school is located in a high poverty area. Many of our students are from homes where parents have less than a high school education and although students try their best, the school is low performing. Additionally, a majority of the students are English language learners. Our school has a dual language program and is a candidate to be a International Baccalaureate school. The dual language program is English/Spanish with one third of the students participating. International Baccalaureate schools focus on global learning and themes.
