My goal is to integrate technology whenever possible. Classroom computers need to be shared among other classes and take a lot of time to start and load settings. There are times when I would like to get a quick assessment on how students understand a particular lesson. Some students have their own devices but many do not. I would like to acquire 9 KingPad tablets for student use, cases to protect the tablets and a charging station to use in my classroom. By having these tablets, my students will be able to use Canvas, Socrative, and Kahoot, as well as other apps and websites for quick formative assessements. The tablets can be used in station activities and group work. In addition, tablets can be used for quick remediation and practice of basic skills for ESE students or students who are having difficulties. Tablets will help differentiate instruction.
