Above the door in our classroom it states, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams." Like Thoreau, our students are confidently moving towards bigger and brighter things. Majority of our students are college bound and interested in careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, design, and public service careers. They are curious about their world and are naturally talented when it comes to new technology. Our school is focused on providing S.T.E.M education, where physics is introduced freshman year. My classroom is full of diverse learners that have varying degrees of prior knowledge in the arts; some have only had in early elementary years. Yet, they are hungry and passionate to soak in all the possibilities of the visual arts and design. They are most excited by our third quarter where we will be investigating technology and building new lenses to envision art.
