The resources I chose for flexible seating (ex: Kore Wobble Chairs and balance balls) will allow the students to be active, while learning throughout the day, choosing how they work best. Physical activity breaks using flexible seating will help improve their cognitive performance, classroom behavior while increasing time on task and a positive attitude toward learning. I feel I am supporting my students by creating this classroom of flexible seating from their point of view, not mine. This type of seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive. I want to have active, engaged, enthusiastic learners by expanding my students' flexible seating choices. Last year, I offered bucket seats I made and different table heights for sitting or standing during daily work. Funding for my project will enable my students to have more choices thus improving their learning in my room.
