Our students are at an Early College where 11th and 12th graders take college-level courses to earn an Associates Degree. In 9th and 10th grade we prepare them to be able to succeed in the college courses, and promote "writing and thinking" to develop their scholarship. Our students rise to the challenge of college level work at age 15 or 16, taking advantage of the opportunity to earn college credits in high school in a struggling district. As there are restricted resources, our faculty, who have Masters or Doctorates in their fields, bring what they can of their own materials to their classrooms to make sure the students have what they need as students and scholars. In terms of foreign language, they are required to take three years of either Spanish or Chinese after a semester of testing out both.
