My students consist mainly of a minority population in an impoverished area. Many of my students are a part of large, immigrant families who wanted better things for their children. The majority of my students are below grade level, but we are working on that. They are eager to learn and love coming to school knowing they are setting themselves up for a better future. My classes vary in size, but not in passion and heart. They love to engage with one another and discuss big issues in our world that affect them and others. They are dedicated to moving forward and doing their best. Our school is a Title 1 school and we lack the resources to upgrade everyone's materials on a regular basis. We use technology to integrate as much current material as possible, but replacing books can be difficult. Our teachers are full of heart and dedication to helping our students succeed.
