We are small charter school that serves over 45% of children who live in poverty and also a large portion of children who are military children. As a charter school, we do not receive public monies in the same capacity as the county schools, therefore it is our responsibility as teachers and a community to work for the same exposure to technology as our county counterparts. Although the counties we serve are rural, my children in general are extremely bright, capable, and competent with technology. It is my hope to learn along side them in understanding new technologies, exposing them to critical thinking skills that will enable them to compete in a market with positions that do not currently exist. We have prided ourselves on preparing our children with leadership skills outlined by the Covey institute, but asked ourselves the question, "What will our students be leaders in?" We believe that STEM focused eduction is the future and we want to be leaders in it.
