My students are hardworking 2nd graders in Tampa, Florida. They are challenged with many factors outside of school which in turn, makes it difficult for them to focus and concentrate during school hours. My students' learning styles vary. Many of my students require tactile, visual, and auditory experiences. They need to be guided as they practice skills such as retelling, questioning, fluency and comprehension (just to name a few) that are a part of the reading process. The iPad minis will be another resource to help guide students during independent and group work and they will give them a sense of independency and success. The students will be able to work at their own rate and developing skill level. My class will benefit greatly from the implementation of the iPads as a learning tool that can provide purposeful and rich learning experiences for each individual child.
