Snare and quad drums are marching instruments that are worn with a harness, and these instruments are heavy. Plus, students have to march and perform while wearing them! Students will easily wear them for 10+ hours a week during football game weeks, which creates a situation where students can easily hurt their backs. To help with this situation, this grant would purchase stands for the snare and quad drums. With these new pieces of equipment, students will be able to perform at their top level while not causing injury or harm to their backs. They will, in turn, have a more enjoyable performance and experience. While these items are not necessarily the "coolest" items to showcase and purchase, these items are certainly necessary to safeguard our students. Furthermore, these stands will last for years and years to come.
