I teach all core subjects to intermediate special education students in an inner-city, high poverty school. My students benefit from hands-on projects and this year we are beginning fractions. I have decided to add a cooking curriculum to the class, so that students will have a chance to work with fractions in real-life situations. I have several sets of measuring tools, but I need a large toaster oven and disposable plasticware in order to expand our recipe collection.
