My students are economically and academically diverse who have a desire to learn and succeed. The teachers and I at Meadowview Elementary have a passion to prepare our students for the 21st century. To adequately do so, we are in need of laptops for our students. Laptops will provide my students the ability to instantly research enduring understandings, create mind maps, develop writing skills, collaborate with their peers and the world around them, and have immediate access to an unlimited amount of resources. Laptops will assist our students in preparing for the Ohio Department of Education's new state assessment which will be all computer based. For this new assessment, students will be required to type their writing responses and manipulate text into graphic organizers. Finally, laptops will provide our students with authentic learning experiences. Chromebooks are less expensive than most laptops and have the functionality that my students need.
