During the COVID-19 school shutdown, it became increasingly apparent that students all over our country are in need of social-emotional support. This comes in many forms, both in school and at home. As an elementary music specialist, I feel passionate about providing that support through a musical lens. Our students need to see themselves reflected in the stories and lessons we provide. If this project is provided, I will use these stories to create original songs with the children, as well as to explore the music of their history and cultures. We will also use these books to provide social-emotional support through music.

About my class
