I have been with the same students for the past 5 years. We began together in 1st grade and are now moving to 5th grade together. My students go to a school with a 98% poverty rating and all the challenges associated with living in a low income community. From our first day together in 1st grade, they touched my heart with their curiosity and determination. This is why I have been looping with them ever since. I am committed to ensuring that my students have the best education that I can give them, so that they will no longer be defined by the zip code that they live in.
