Each child enjoys our Daily 5 literacy model, and loves choosing their own activities for each day. Their choices vary from word work, read to self, read to someone, work on writing, and listen to reading. Students are eager to practice each of these daily jobs, and it makes me smile as they excitedly begin each activity. After each activity we take an opportunity to share something that went well for each student as they independently worked, and I love to hear students say "I worked the whole time!" or "My partner and I read about __ and we learned ___." or "I LOVED my book choice!" It is always my goal for students to continuously build upon this interest and enthusiasm through a variety of choices and opportunities to try, practice, touch, feel, play, and explore. I know that giving them an opportunity to use tablets will not only increase their enthusiasm, but will increase their readiness for their future.
