We LOVE to read! My goal as a teacher is to inspire students to seek out new books and share books that they love. These picture books will allow my younger students to find books that interest them and that they can read independently and share with friends and family members. Students will be able to choose books from our classroom library to read during independent reading time or to take home and enjoy with their families. we receive these new picture books, I will be introducing them to the students during mini-lessons. Previewing the books together will gain students interest and let them know what books are available in our classroom library. During class mini-lessons, I will use picture books as mentor texts to teach reading skills and strategies. Having a literature-rich classroom gives me the opportunity to introduce my students to many different types of books and hopefully create life long readers!
