I am currently the intervention math teacher at our STEM school. This is a new position for me and our school. The students that I will be working with are from multicultural backgrounds and nearly 60% of them qualify for free and reduced lunches. For many students English is a second language. Parental support is minimal for the vast majority of my students. With all of these disadvantages, most of my students struggle to reach grade level in multiple subjects. I want to take the initiative and provide students with tools to alter their perception of learning so that they view learning as a positive and fun. I want to ignite a passion for math and problem solving.
