I retired after 30+ years in public school and now teach at a residential school which serves children from K-12th grades. Our children generally come from traumatic or abusive situations. They may stay with us only a few months or many years in some cases. Classes are small as these children need so much attention and help to deal with and overcome their situations so they can learn and succeed.
