My 26 fourth grade students are learning in a technology-deprived environment, and even though I provide them with the highest quality education possible using the limited technology I have available, they deserve more. My students are enthusiastic learners who thrive on research. They love to find the answers to their questions but lack the means to do so. My wish is for my students to have a laptop at their disposal at all times in order to become the type of learners and researchers they need to be in order to be successful in the world we live in today. My students deserve the same opportunity other students in other districts have. However, due to the high number of economically disadvantaged learners in our district (75% free and reduced lunch) and the limited funds available, my students don't have that same opportunity. They are forced to learn through the use of one classroom teacher computer.
