Nonfiction is an important teaching tool in support of school curriculum. And nonfiction can offer children something that can help them long after the book is closed: an appreciation of the value of well-researched, accurate facts. I believe that my students will benefit from having these real world articles and activities in the classroom. The practice will also improve reading stamina and provide hands on practice for state mandated ting later in the year. Not only does Time for Kids report current events, but it’s also standard based. These articles will promote and encourage reading on their level. Let’s go!
