Everglades K-8 Center was built in 1956. The schools' population is predominantly Hispanic. A high percentage of my class is on free or reduced lunch. Seventy-five percent of the students in my 1st grade class are English Language Learners who face many challenges both at home and at school. Motivating them to learn is challenging and rewarding at the same time. Reading is the foundation for success and becoming a life long learner. Technology will enable them to focus on visuals and make learning meaningful for them; thus, improving their reading skills.

About my class
