The students at my school come from diverse backgrounds, with more than two dozen languages spoken in the home. Some of these families work in the high tech industry, while many others struggle to make ends meet. One-third of my students qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. The result is, I have a mix of students in my classroom, some with parents who are able to support them with their math homework while others don't have the help they need.
