My students are in the first grade. They are an excited, active, and a bright bunch of young students who work hard every day. We have a variety of learning styles in our class. I have several students who are reading above grade level, a majority of students on grade level, and then about 7 students who need lots of extra small group practice learning to blend and read more confidently. I have a handful of students who have some special needs with focusing and attention and having an ipad mini would motivate them to stay focused. This would truly help our class to work collectively and collaboratively together. I believe students do not have an enough fun, inspiring, and interesting ways of working together in a group setting. Kids love to use technology as a way of practicing and reviewing skills we have learned in class so they are more confident to learn more deeply as the curriculum gets more challenging through out the year!
