My students' demographic is very diverse. Some come from families with very little or barely enough. My school (teachers, administrators, PTA) accommodate as best, but much more need to be done to meet students' needs and prepare them for the world of work. Too many of my students do not have a computer at home, because parents have to make ends meet in order to survive. Some of my parents hold two jobs to support their children. They are honest, work hard, and want the best for their children. My students are highly motivated and want to learn. Many of them come in early to for additional help, and use the computers to complete their assignments. My students need to know about technological tools that are available to make work easier. Access to tools provides support to concepts being learned, motivates students, gives them a sense of self worth, and helps them develop skills that will be useful later on in life.
