My scholars love to learn and are excited to try new things. Since the beginning of the year they have been learning what it means to be a risk-taker by sharing their ideas with others. Our learning environment is very active and often filled with scholars communicating with each other talking about what they realized, noticed, and/or found interesting about almost any given lesson. They know what it means to be a T.E.A.M. (together everyone achieves more) and together they push their thinking and learn from each other. Our learning community is very diverse. We have English Language Learners, some with special needs, some who need intervention support, and some who may be identified as GATE or advanced. Although they are all in different places I know that each and every one of them will reach for their target goals and strive to reach the high expectations I set forth. The Common Core State Standards has defined some lofty goals, but together I know we can do it!
