I have 19 vivacious pre-k students in my class. They are extremely eager to "play" with technology! As my students walk into class and choose their center, the iPad is the very first thing they ask for in the library center. There are many variations of academic levels in my class. Technology affords kids the opportunity to choose games they are comfortable with yet can challenge them academically. The current iPad in our class remains in the library center where there is a maximum of 2 kids at a time. One student is having to idly wait for their turn while the other current iPad user has the pressure of knowing their turn is about to end. The student rarely gets to finish their academic game because they are having to share with their classmate or always saying, "He/she is not sharing!". I teach at a very large pre-k to 5th grade school with over 1200 students. My school is very supportive, but funds are not available to purchase another iPad.
