My school is a Title-I school and is located in an area where many of the families lack necessary items for survival. In some homes, food is scarce so they definitely don't have technology at home. Most students are African-American and Hispanic and are on free and/or reduced lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Parents lack and education and therefore have difficulty assisting their children with homework. Some of the classrooms lack sufficient technology for the students. Either there are not enough computers for the students or no Promethean Board/SMART Board that teachers can use for instruction. The students have a desire to learn and it's a shame they are not afforded the same opportunities as other students because of where they live.
