We are a low socio-economic school. We have 87% free/reduced lunch participants. With the budget being nonexistent, we are unable to update the technology in the classroom. We are struggling to compete in this age of technology. Our students do not have the resources at home and depend on the schools to supply technology for them. Our kids have a strong desire to do their work and learn; however, due to budget limitations and cut backs, we do not have the resources for the kids. Students are unable to research and finish projects at home. With laptops in our classroom, we would be able to research and print reports. We would be able to go on school supported websites such as "Ticket to Read" and ST Math. They would be able to be a part of webinars with authors, inventors, and fellow students. Our students would be able to become global learners and take an active part in their education and the world around them.
