"Miss, I'm hungry!" My students work very hard daily. They have an extended school day to help close the achievement gap. Our school has a 92% poverty level, so they often come to school without breakfast. Lunches at our school are good, but do not provide them with adequate nourishment. They are all growing children. If they had a snack that they could count on daily, it would make their day. These snacks will benefit their learning by providing them a boost of nutrition when they need it. I believe if the students have their daily needs met, it will make them easier for them to have a successful day.
