These books are a combination of curriculum topics as well as books that my students chose themselves. I think it's incredibly important that my students have a say in what they are able to read. Every book we chose can be applied to our curriculum throughout the year-from animal adaptations to writing poetry. When students are interested in the topic of a book, there is a higher retention rate, as well as a continued love for reading. I hope that all my students become avid readers and develop a passion for books. These books will improve my classroom by creating an environment built around reading and learning new information.
