Picture a group of intellectually disabled students who enjoy listening to music, stories and playing educational games.Picture a nonverbal student who cries when the one computer in the class room has been turned off to allow for teacher directed instruction. It would be awesome for these students to be able to get on a tablet to access educational material during differentiated instruction. Having tablets in my classroom would allow me to assign different lessons to each student in line with the goals on their Individualized Education Plan. It would also give me the opportunity to work on self-help skills with other students while the ones on the tablets are working independently.
