I have a wonderful group of 47 enthusiastic and fun-loving students. Our school consists of 18 classes of 3rd-5th graders and is located in a small town in SC. I teach my students ELA and Social Studies in two separate groups each day. We are a Title 1 school which means the majority of my students come from low income families. My goal is to make school a consistent, fun, and loving environment for my little ones. Our classroom is a "family" where students are encouraged to do their best and respect others. Our school is full inclusion, which means special education students are placed in a regular classroom setting with general education students. This makes my job very challenging as I seek to challenge the fast learners and inspire the ones who struggle. My inspiration? "If kids come to us from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job easier. If they do not come to us from strong, healthy, functioning families, it makes our job more important." - by Barbara Colorose
