My students will use the laptops, tablets and headphones during Differentiated Instruction and small groups. These centers will allow them to research, explore, compete through technology on the various math sites with other students all over the world. These types of competitions will enhance their reading and math skills which will prove essential in their academic growth and success in this 21st century learning environment. This increasing focus on technology use in schools and the shifts in ways that modern-day learners communicate have impacted how technology is used in the classroom. Currently, teachers utilize various technology tools to enhance their instruction and to extend classroom communication. My classroom instruction is centered primarily on collaboration and sharing, student self-expression, interaction with peers, and opportunity for authentic learning experiences. Through the implementation and integration of technologies in the classroom setting, students are now able to have new authentic and meaningful learning experiences. For example, modern-day education is not focused on simply learning concepts or facts as they are laid out in a curriculum. Instead, it is about the process of building connections. As a result, students gain an awareness of the importance and the value of communication. Today, with a single laptop and an Internet connection, a teacher can broadcast and begin collaboration with any other classroom. It is obvious that Technology improves our lives and prepares us for the future.
