My students are mostly immigrants or first-generation Americans, and for some English is a second language. They are in a Title I School in Florida and the burden of supplying them with what they need falls on the teacher/school's already strained shoulders. They have a great desire to learn and be exposed to technology; they just don't have the means or access. Sometimes we have to meet their basic needs before anything else. Providing them with the opportunity to access technological resources will place them on equal footing with their more financially fortunate peers and allow them to Soar to New Heights using technology. These resources will not be a gift, but an investment in our bright students who are full of promise and will be the future leaders of our community. We have a saying in our school: mediocre teachers tell, good teachers explain, superior teachers demonstrate, but our teachers inspire With your help, I want to inspire my students via technology.
