I have a third grade classroom in an inner city in PA which is considered to be in the lower socioeconomic range. My students are enthusiastic, funny, eager to learn and kind despite living in modest homes by most standards, and often with the support of only one parent or guardian. These students need more resources, more allotments, more services than their richer suburban counterparts. I believe that in order to reach this particular group of students at their various levels of achievement, we need to use technology as much as possible. It is obvious to everyone in the modern world, that computers drive our industry and working environment. I would like to teach the students using technology to keep pace with the times and allow the students to be comfortable with its use. I would use a large screen monitor, hooked up to a classroom computer, to show streaming videos about a subject we are learning about.
