My students rarely get the opportunity to learn how to draw the clefs or notate music. They write on paper all day long so when they come to music class I refuse to give them more paper and pencils! Writing on dry erase boards is so much more enjoyable for them and exciting. If they get to learn how to draw the music clefs and notes on a five line staff they will remember better how to draw them because they will have fun doing it. Kids learn best and retain more when their learning environment is fun. Music is already fun, I just want to make it a little more fun for them, and teach them something at the same time.
