My students are 12 and 13 year old boys and girls who come from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. They have varying abilities from high achievers to struggling learners. The way our school district is structured, this is the first year they have a class devoted to Social Studies, so I really want to get them involved and engaged in the curriculum. Many students have not enjoyed Social Studies previously, and I know if it is engaging they will! While they have many differences, they love to learn when they are entertained and engaged with our curriculum. Working cooperatively they can produce excellent creative work product which challenges their thought processes.
