The materials and special seating that I am requesting for my students will allow for us to explore a different learning environment than that of traditional desks and chairs. Therefore, "flexible seating" is the focus behind our classroom project. This year I would like to implement and empower my students to take charge of their learning environment. The fluffy carpet will be placed near our classroom library, the balance balls will give my students a stress-relieving option when completing work, and the beautiful cozy curtains will tie it all in so my students can feel right at home.
I can understand and appreciate the variety of comfortable classroom settings that are out there, and this year I would like to make it available for my incoming 2nd graders. I am positive they would benefit from a classroom that’ll make them feel right at home. Having the ability to sit on a balance ball or fluffy carpet while they read or review will bring ease and a sense of confidence in their flexible seating arrangements. There is an element of ownership that I wish for my students to have this school year.
