My students are in the Special Day Class program at a large, comprehensive high school. They are ethnically and racially diverse and come from families of various socioeconomic status. Most important to me is that they are all incredibly diverse in terms of their learning strengths and preferences. Every student in my class is a person with a disability such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech/Language Impairment, or Learning Disability. They are stepping up to a rigorous, academic program with the goal of earning their high school diploma while preparing for college and career readiness.
