Technology is necessary in the classroom so students can be prepared for the technology in our society when they go into the world as adults. My goal as a teacher is to help my students succeed to the best of their abilities. By ensuring that my students have an awareness and understanding of technology I can help them to become more well-rounded and successful students as they continue to grow and learn. The iPads will be used for math, reading, and spelling instruction, as well as learning about science, social studies, and geography. I would like to purchase 10 refurbished iPads, cases, and an iTunes giftcard to use for apps. I envision the following example: while participating in our reading centers one group can use the iPads to practice and help master comprehension. I have previously used iPads in the classroom and I find it to be immensely beneficial to my students and their understanding of the world around them.
